To all you Newbies

Hey guys,

For all of you Newbies starting secondary school, or as the Americans like to call it (I think) high school, good luck. It's probably going to be the first year of hell because you're all going to be the youngest students there, which means that you don't really have a say in anything. But don't worry, I've got some cool survival tips for starting out -trust me, if I learnt anything from watching the Nickelodeon show 'Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide' it's how to give good advice.

1. Okay, the very first thing you have to think about is first impressions. This is very crucial because until proven otherwise, people are going to judge you based on their first impression of you. This could be positive "you're that kid that pulled a prank on mr ____ on the first day! Dude you're awesome" or negative "dude, that's that kid that wet herself". So be careful

2. Don't allow yourself to get pushed around. By this I don't mean be a bully or anything, I just mean that you shouldn't let people think that they can call you names or bully you. Stand your ground and squash that behavior before it turns into anything you can't undo. Like having an embarrassing nickname e.g. "Sir Farts a lot" Idk, you understand the point I'm trying to make.

3.The very last thing you want to do is blend into the crowd. Be yourself and you'll be able to maintain it, don't try and change who you are just to fit in with the crowd. True friends will accept you for who you really are. After all, you don't really stay friends with the people you first make friends with when you're new, unless you're like me and you meet someone who is too cool to let go of (I'm talking about you K. Cherad :p).

4. As cliche as this sounds...Always be yourself. Seriously, if you don't it wont end well for you. For example, if you want people to think f you as that fashionable, designer brand wearing person, people are going to hold you to that standard and if that's not who you really are, you're going to end up slipping up and you won't be able to maintain it. If you're really a 'plain-Jane' type of person, just embrace it. Your personality should cover everything else.

5.Have fun! Now's the time to let loose. Year 7&8 should be the funnest years of your secondary lives. Year seven in the year that you can get  away with everything because you are "New and naive" whilst year 8 is when you have the tiniest bit of authority because you are no longer at the bottom of the school. Year 9 is when the teachers start to get a little stricter because "your GCSEs start next year" and, well, we all know that there's no time to play around when you reach years 10 and 11. If you're still messing around at that stage, I wish you luck. Now I'm blabbing, my point is...Remember to have as much fun as you can, whilst you can.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,

Farewell

Hey guys,

I just realized that there are soo many stories that I haven't told you about. Most of them regarding school, for example about 70% of the staff in my school are leaving/have left. The worst part is that it's all the fun, entertaining ones that teach some of my favorite subjects that are leaving, which means that next year (this September) we will be going back to a nightmare.

Okay, here are the list of subjects that might be a nightmare for me this year (due to the loss of the fun teachers):

Art
Art
Form
Ict
Science
PE
English
DT

Actually, fun story: I was sitting on the seats at the top back of a double decker bus with two of my friends (Maya and Kim-anh) when our ex science teacher (he is one of the teachers listed above left the school) walked up the stairs. What's funny is, when he saw us, he tried to walk back down the stairs but we spotted him and .Don't judge me, but yes, we did. We took a selfie with him. To be honest, I don't even know why, I guess it's just to have some sort of a memory of him. I've decided that if i see any more teachers, I will take a photo with them.
Speaking of teachers, I saw one of the PE teachers that work in my school when I was out skateboarding with Maya. I think that was three weeks ago.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,

Skateboarding

Hey guys,

I think we've all established how lousy I am at posting on time, so this shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. Two weeks ago I took it upon myself to learn how to skateboard, this was very difficult considering that I don't own one, but my friend-

I feel like, instead of saying "my friend" I should actually say their names because it's incredibly difficult to tell a story, especially when it involves multiple friends. I probably end up sounding like this "My friend took be to convent garden for my birthday. Whilst there we bumped into my other friend. She said that she just finished having dinner with my other friend".

-Maya, thank God, does own a skateboard, so she offered to teach me and our other friend Kim-anh how to skate in the park near her house. I'd say I'm a pretty quick learner because I mastered riding after only (what felt like) five minutes.

After messing around for a while in the secluded park, we decided that I was Pro enough to take it to the next level. Riding in a public space, so we waited at the bus stop (making noise as usual). Whilst joking around, the inevitable happened. A drunk guy sitting at the stop started mumbling things. At first,  we assumed that he was talking to himself but as he went on it became evident that he was talking to us. His slur went something along the lines of this:

  • "Stupid kids are getting on my nerves"
  • "stfu"
  • "Go away you £%%&$%^ kids"
Kim-anh has this thing where she laughs when she's nervous, so she was in hysterics, which made me start laughing too, this only angered the man so we started having a little fun with him.
  • "Yeah, go and call your dad...£&*^*%..stupid kids"
I think at that point we'd all established that we were just a bunch of "stupid kids".

I've come to the realization that drunk old men might be drawn to me. Seriously, do you remember when I posted about getting lost in London? There was that scary, old drunk guy that was trying to hit on me. Unlike the last time, I actually took a  few pictures of this guy when the bus was pulling away from the stop, you know, just in case he tried anything dodgy.

If I continue telling this story, we'd be here for days. So the key events of the day were:
  • Drunkard
  • Met this cool Saudi Arabian kid, he told be to throw his hoody to him whilst he was in the tree.
  • Trapped hoody in some branches high up
  • Finally climbed a tree
  • Skateboarding
  • Life flashes in front of eyes as I almost fall of the skateboard
Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,

Update: Summer bucket list

Hey guys,

Do you remember the Bucket list I put together at the beginning of Summer? Yeah, me neither, but I just stumbled across it a few days ago and thought that you deserved an update on how it's going and I have realized that I haven't posted in a while (which means that I have a bunch of stories to share).

To be honest, looking at the list now I'm surprised that I've even managed to achieve anything (not that anything on the list requires much effort)

1.Post something on my blog every day (sorry, knowing me it's never going to happen)
2.Get two more Blue Peter Badges
3.Catch up on my holiday homework (In working progress)
4.Write and post four more chapters in my Wattpad book (I decided to completely reinvent my book, so it's currently M.I.A)
5.Work out more (let's be realistic, once a week)
6.Go out with my friends at least once a week
7.Join a summer club of some sort
8.Build a fort
9.Climb a tree
10.Learn at least three more songs on my guitar and piano

As you can see, I have achieved most of my Summer goals. The one that I was the most excited about was Climbing a tree, I don't even know why but it was, but that's a whole 'nother story.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,
Hmm...HMM..

Less fortunate -summary

Hey guys,

On Friday, I finally got the chance to do something that I've always wanted to do, it's something that I think everyone should do. I fed the homeless. When you're walking down the street and you see someone homeless sitting there, I personally don't believe in giving them money, I believe that you should always give them food because you don't know what someone is going to use the money for.

I didn't go alone, I went to buy the food from Asda with my friends Zoe and Kayleigh and we bought:
  • Large bottles  of water x5
  • A range of sandwiches x3
  • Packets of biscuits x5
  • Dog food and treats x9
I bet you're thinking "why dog food?" but we feel really bad when we see homeless people with pets- especially when the pets look really malnourished and starved. Then we separated the shopping into separate bags of which had contents that were of an almost equal amount .
Next, we searched through the Elephant and Castle under-paths, where we usually find people, but there were no people around. I think the cops told made them leave . Just when we were about to give up with that area and head to central London, we spotted a man sleeping on the stairs. We woke him up and gave him one of the bags, he was really grateful and said his thank yous before we left. After his positive acceptance of the bag, I felt like such a cow for being hesitant. It's not like we didn't want to hand him the bag or anything, it's just that talking to a complete stranger and not knowing how they were going to react to us and the bags was quite scary.

When we arrived at central London, we came to the discovery that there was some kind of bike marathon going on, so most of the streets were closed and the police had shooed away all of the homeless, I guess because they wanted the area to look 'better', I strongly disagree with that.
We spent the next two hours walking around central London looking for people but we were tired of walking and holding the bags ( the bottles of water were surprisingly heavy) so we started giving up. Then we found one person. A man and his dog. We gave him an Asda bag that also had dog food and started heading home.

On our way to the bus stop, there was a woman sat outside a tesco express, we gave her a bag and kept on walking but we assumed that we weren't going to find anyone else, so we went back to her and gave her another bag. Literally two minutes later,  we turn a corner and see a different man with a dog, so we give him the final asda bag ( the one with both human and dog food), he thanks us and we keep on walking. About seven steps away from him sat another man. I felt really bad that we had nothing to give to him because we had previously given the woman two bags, if only we had seen him first. I guess the good thing that came out of that is the woman now has two gallons of water and a few sandwiches.

Whilst on the bus, we drove past the streets that we had walked previously and saw more people sitting on the ground and laying in sleeping bags. This was the worst feeling of all. It sucked that we couldn't help them, not only because we were on the bus, but because had already spent all of the money we had.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,
Hmm...HMM..

Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.

Arts Evening

Hey guys,

I just found this post that I'd typed up and I was supposed to post it on the second to last Friday of school. Whoops?

A few Fridays ago was 'Arts Evening' in my school. I usually don't go, or even acknowledge it, but this year was different. My art teacher suggested that we went, but I told her that I would only attend if she payed for my ticket, so she payed for the tickets of some on my friends (Zoe, Kayleigh, Neriah, Maya and cheyene) and I. School normally finishes around 3:30pm but the event didn't start until 6:00pm, so being the lazy people we are, Zoe and I decided to stay in school until 6pm whilst the rest of them went home. The one problem with our plan was the fact that we didn't have any food left on us, so I asked Kayleigh to bring some snacks back from her house when she came back.

An hour later, we were soo hungry and Kayleigh wasn't coming for the next two hours, so Zoe and I decided to go downstairs and help out with the setting up of everything in the hopes of scoring some free food. That didn't work out well. They charged us money for everything, even if you were a part of the show. That failed, so we decided to actually help out by standing at the entrance and letting students pass in and out of school. Then we started joking around with some students, telling them that "the price of entry is food". Most of them just laughed or gave us weird looks, but then we had a lucky break with a student from year nine, she gave us a chocolate bar. Then there was this sixth former who was leaving and we told her that we'd only let her back in if she bought us something from the corner shop (we said it in a joking way, we were laughing whilst talking) she said okay and left. Ten minutes later, we thought that she lied to us and left to go home, but then she came back in, holding a giant pack of Haribos. We said thank you and waited for her to leave before we just stared at each other frozen in shock with "that just happened" expressions on our faces.

Altogether, we were gifted: a jumbo packet of Haribo, Twix bars, sweets, Pringles and a few chocolates. Oh, and some teachers bought us cakes and whatnot.

The moral of the story is always bring snacks when you're staying after school. I'm kidding, although that's some really good advice, I think the true moral of the story is to share and be kind. Just because we you might not know someone, doesn't mean that you can't help them out.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,
