School, Grades, Parties and Birthdays

Hey guys,

Today is my sisters' 16th birthday!!!! Which has been really amazing so far because she had a party (which I technically wasn't invited to, but it's my house too, so I hung around).... But I'll get to that later.

Today was one of the most dreaded days in the academic year for most of the students my age- Parents evening. I stayed behind after school for one and a half hours. I think it's safe to say that it was one of the most frantic hours of my life. It started off with four of us playing a very civilized uncivilized game of snap. That was just the beginning. The next thing I know, we're playing a game of PIG (which is a card game...too long to explain). Whilst playing this, two more people joined in on the game. Then out of nowhere popped the school janitor, she's kind of cool, suggesting that we raise the stakes of our game.
She left the room and came back with a small HUGE bowl of coins. She claimed she had found them over the years and said that we could borrow them to use as money in the game. It was pretty cool. It was like the pg version of.... I don't know... But please remind me NEVER to play snap with a bunch of girls EVER AGAIN! It was crazy, I felt like WW3 was happening in that room. You had girls screaming, clawing, pushing, shoving and snatching. It was complete mayhem.

Back to the (second) main subject of today. Parents evening. I personally don't see the big deal in freaking out about it (give or take a few subjects), because overall, I think my results were pretty damn good especially compared to some of the grade reports that I saw. Some people got D'sand E's. I literally had to pick my jaw up off of the ground. How can people not care about what they get? Most people probably think that I'm not THAT SMART, but I am. In fact, I think I'm going to tell you what I got:

         Subject                                                                          Current grade                   Predicted grade
  • Maths..........................................................................   A                                            A
  • Science........................................................................   A/A*                                      A*
  • Art..............................................................................    A/A*                                      A*
  • Geography...................................................................   A                                            A*
The crazy thing is that I'm not even lying! Give or take one or two subjects, I'm a straight A student! Who would have thunk it?! I guess some revising does pay off after all.
As you can see, there are a few subjects missing, like English, (which I got a B in) but that's just because my teacher was angry with me when she was writing up our reports, she told me that herself. Ohh well, you win some and you loose some.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,

ahhhhhh

Hey guys,
I'm not even going to try and sound all possitive about today. The truth is that i'm cranky and sleep deprived. I've got to hand in this essay for science the first thing today so i guess i'm pulling an all nighter. Yaay me (sarcasm. I am in no way happy about this).
The only good thing that's happened so far today was waking my friend up in the middle of the night just to hang up when she picked it up. Hahah the memory still makes me smile. we've started a mini prank war that i'm more than determined to win.
Anyway, there will be no quotes or pics because A) i don't feel like it and B) i cant access it from my phone, so sorry.

Model behaviour

Hey guys,

Before half term started, my friends and I were chosen to take a Nikon Photography course by our art teacher. This meant that, both yesterday and today, we got to learn how to use some of the best professional Nikon DSLR cameras. It was really good experience because I now know most of the terminology and how to use the cameras to their full potential.... Just know that I'm here for hire if you need someone to take the role of an amateur paparazzo.

Oh, and I guess that yesterday I officially became a model! Great right? We used our new found knowledge to stage a photo shoot annd we posed as models in a photo shoot with a professional photographer.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,

Love? blah!

Hey guys,

My friends have been mocking me because a few days ago, I started reading this really cheesy book on Wattpad. It's one of those really typical high school jock falling for the nerdy girl because she doesn't like him like everyone else does. I'm actually cringing at the fact that I even considered, yet alone started reading the book. I'm not anti-love, but just talking about it makes me want to cringe. Its always been that way with me. For example, a friend said 'I love you' (as a friend. Don't go getting the wrong idea) to me and I responded saying, 'yeah, me too'. I was hoping that they didn't sense how awkward it was for me ho respond.

Speaking about love, I present to you the worst day on the calender. VALENTINES DAY. Yaay (sense the sarcasm). I hate valentines day. It's just like that cringe worthy book brought to life. I don't know why people even fall for it. Why do you HAVE to have a Valentine? I think it's really pointless. But that's just my opinion.

Birthdays, Pizzas and Thrown out

Hey guys,

WARNING! LONG POST BUT WORTH READING

last Saturday I was invited to a friends birthday outing. She wanted to take us out to a restaurant but I didn't want to go. I don't know why, maybe it was because laziness was kicking in.
I eventually convinced myself to go, because there were lots of people saying that they couldn't go, and I thought it could be interesting.

I was right. The day was awesome. Where to start. Alright.
I met up with some of my friends around 3:30 because we didn't know our way to the meeting point, so we figured that we could get lost together. We were the first ones to arrive at the meeting point, eventually joined by everyone else. That's when I thought the night was going to get really awkward because there were soo many different groups of people that don't usually interact with each other.
We got onto the bus, I can't remember which one but it was going going to take us straight to the restaurant. I'd have to say that the bus journey was the best part of the trip, I'm not even joking. There were about 14 girls in our group all occupying the seats at the back of the bus, so you can image the amount of noise we were producing (I'm disappointing in myself because I never thought that I would be one of those people). Anywhoo there were three boys at the front of the bus, someone from our group claimed to like him, so I was dared to go and tell him that. At first I was just putting up a brave face because I knew that no one would really let me go and do it. I was wrong, eventually I got up; walked up the isle and tapped him on the shoulder saying "my friend likes you". then walked back to my seat. This caused everyone to burst into histericks as they gave me high fives. I guess I finally I grew a pair!

We eventually got off the bus but had to walk for fifteen minutes in high winds (bear in mind that we are all wearing dresses) and rain looking for the restaurant. When we finally locate it (after asking going into another restaurant to ask for directions), we figured out that the birthday girl didn't think that she had to make a reservation. The place was packed and we weren't allowed to go in. It was soo embarrassing until my friend was leaning against a poster in the restaurant and accidentally caused it to fall off the wall, causing us to make a hasty retreat.

Now we were out in the freezing cold and rain, not knowing where to go and eat. We were all beyond starving. We had three options: Pizza express (which she really didn't want to go to), Nando's (which she also really didn't want tog o to) and a Chinese restaurant. Our next stop took us to the Chinese restaurant. We all gathered in and the man told us that we had to pay a minimum of 10 pounds per person. We all accepted this and proceeded to sit down. When half of us were seated I jokingly mumbled if we could see the portions but no one heard me. The birthday girl then asked to see the portions but thiat pissed the manager off soo much that he threw us all out of the restaurant. THAT IN MY OPINION WAS THE STUPIDEST THING HE COULD HAVE DONE BECAUSE HE JUST MISSED OUT ON EARNING OVER 140 POUNDS ANNNDD TO TOP IT OFF, HIS RESTAURANT WAS EMPTY! and by empty, I mean that you could literally hear a pin drop. This was the first time in my life that I have ever been thrown out of anything. We were all shocked but it makes for a great memory.

Now we were back out in the cold, we had no choice but to go to Pizza express because we had a few vegetarians in our group (including me). Whilst trying to find the shop, one of the girls said that she had to go because she had a (some kind of) problem which meant that she had to eat something ASAP or she would faint. We all understood and said our goodbyes to her. Ten minutes later, after we have taken our seats at Pizza express, she rejoins us. I was soo confused at this point... I thought she said that she needed to go?
A few seconds later she started complaining that she needed to eat something pronto. I just stared at her, as cruel as this may sound, I felt no sympathy for her. This is because I was/am confused as to why she hadn't popped into a corner shop during the ten minutes that she disappeared. It doesn't make any sense to me. Anyway, her complaining touches the heart of some of the other girls, so they leave with her to go to McDonald instead of staying to celebrate their friends' birthday. Good friends right? WHAT REALLY GOT MY BLOOD BOILING WAS THAT IF SHE HAD ORDERED A STARTER, IT WOULD HAVE COME TO HER WITHIN THE NEXT MINUTE. I know that for a fact because we ordered a a minute before they left and it came a minute after they had left. I think that the girl just wanted to suck all of the attention away from the birthday girl. We ate, took pictures then my friend and I broke away from the group on the way home because we live in separate areas to the rest of them. We caught three buses that ended up terminating,so it took us an hour longer than it would have to get home.

!!!!!!!!!!We are the champions my friends!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys,

I almost forgot to tell you guys that my group won the Young Consumers Borough Finals!!! Woohoo! It was really scary though. Our hands were shaking. The only thing is, I'm not sure if I deserved to win. I know my team mates did. I answered all of my questions right, I can't help but think that I basically did nothing. Oh well, I have a trophy sitting in my bedroom right now. :) good times. sometime in April (I think), we are going to compete in the London Finals. Oh, and as well as winning trophies, we received a certificate and £25 gift voucher. Cool right? I'm just happy that I didn't let my team down. Now it's time to revise for the finals because I was bugging out before the competition.Next time, I want to be calm and collected.

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,

Sight seeing: Crazy guy

Hey guys,

Recently, I've been really busy revising for exams and doing homework but I do have a-lot of exciting stories to share. Where to start, where to start. Alright. Two Saturdays ago, I met up with my friends and we went out to tour London for the second time. This time instead of hanging around near London bridge and the Tate Modern, we searched for the 4D model store and went shopping in convent garden. Looking for the 4D model store took about an hour and when we finally found it, we hung out there for an hour without even knowing.

That's not really the fun part. The fun part of the day was stumbling into a magic (?? I don't even know what to call it) show outside the national gallery. This mans' show was all about him fitting his body through a tennis racket. It was super spooky. But when I think about it, he is a really smart man. Everyone gathered around to watch his do this trick, but all he did for half an hour was entertain and procrastinate. In the end, when he finally did the trick, it was SPOOKY!! I cringe just thinking about it now. He started off with putting the racket around his head, then he managed to squeeze one arm in. The next thing he did was crazy! He dislocated his other arm and waved it about. Literally patting himself on the back. After he got that hand through, he had the trouble of getting it past his stomach. He`had a beer-belly but was able to squeeze through it. Crazy stuff. The rest was quite straight-forward.It was one of those things
that you really want to walk away from, but you can't because you want to see how it finishes.

After that awful sight, we headed off to a comic book store which was pretty cool because I've always wanted to go to one. I wanted to see if it looked like the one in The Big Bang Theory. It didn't but it looked cooler. Comics, action figures, posters. I'm not one of those comic collecting people, I also don't spend ridiculous amounts of money buying action-figures but I found the whole experience really cool. I did buy something though. I bought a Doctor who 50th anniversary bus pass holder, which is really cool but what I really want to get is a Doctor who sonic screw driver key chain. They looked really cute. I'll let you know if I decide to buy it.

P.s.
The reason that I called him crazy, is that he did all of this in freezing cold weather- with his shirt off. It wasn't a pretty sight. Oh, and if I find the video of the man, I will post it

Anyway, I've got another quote and picture for you all,

Flappy bird

Hey guys,

I'm pretty sure that most of you have already been`plagued by the new phenomena called Flappy Bird.
Playing it drives me CRAZY!! My high score is currently 16. I was soo close to breaking the record (18) that my friend set on my phone, but I didn't make it. I'm soo annoyed and fighting the urge to delete the app.

Speaking of deleting the app, the owner deleted the app and now many people are taking advantage of the game's popularity and put up their Flappy-bird installed smartphones for sale on eBay. One such device was spotted selling for $100,000. Which is really bizarre! Who would pay that much money for a game?
